Lot Details
Provenance: Purchased from new and stored in a purpose build temperature and humidity controlled cellar ever since. Grange 2003 Grange is arguably Australia's most famous wine and is officially listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. Grange boasts an unbroken line of vintages from the experimental 1951 and clearly demonstrates the synergy between Shiraz and the soils and climates of South Australia. PENFOLDS Grange displays fully-ripe, intensely-flavoured and textured Shiraz grapes in combination with new American oak. The result is a unique Australian style that is now recognised as one of the most consistent of the world's great wines. The Grange style is the original and most powerful expression of PENFOLDS multi-vineyard, multi-district blending philosophy. https://www.penfolds.com/on/demandware.static/-/Library-Sites-PenfoldsSharedLibrary/default/dw7db9a349/2-Documents/Tasting_Notes/The_Penfolds_Collection/Grange/Penfolds_The_Penfolds_Collection_Grange_2003.pdf?srsltid=AfmBOopvKy67Il5h56m29wxT-4GNqowHw06sg55SBhZPTfiQYxtjmv2w Deep and bright colour; major surprise along the lines of the '00, albeit in very different style; here there is density and structure; the fruit is rich, but not spongy or dead.
