The British War Medal issued to 26737 Lt James Armistead, who was wounded on the Western Front in March 1918 whilst serving with 8th (Southland) Company, 1st Battalion, Otago Infantry Regiment. This lot also comes with two Masonic medals: (1) The Combined Forces Lodge 284, Founder's jewel, 1925, struck in silver and enamel, by Young & Co., Auckland, not inscribed. (2) Auckland Chapter No.266, handcrafted jewel in silver gilt, no maker, reverse inscribed 'Presented To/James Armstead/8 March 1943
