Andrews served in Crimea at Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann and Sebastopol. All four clasps are confirmed on the medal roll. He served in New Zealand 1861 and 1863 - 1866, seeing action at Katikara, Waitara (1863) and Orakau (1864).
