This original J & E Stevens "Always Did Spise a Mule" Money box from the late 19th Century is in excellent condition (the bank was patented in 1897). This bank is similar to the prior lot but was a later design. This design features a horse that swings 180 degrees around and the boy the falls dropping the coin into the slot. There is excellent coverage of original paint with the striking orange on the boys shirt and base of the horse still very present, with only a few areas of wear, to be expected with its age.
