This original J & E Stevens "Always Did Spise a Mule" Money box from the late 19th Century is in excellent condition (the bank was patented in 1879). There is excellent coverage of original paint with only a few areas of wear, to be expected with its age. The mechanism works perfectly and is triggered by a small button by the rear legs that flings the horse up and the boy forward dropping the coin into the money box.
