Afghan Medal issued to Palmer of the 15th (The King's) Hussars. This regiment of cavalry typically received medals with no bars. After the Afghan War, the 15th Hussars were redeployed to South Africa, where they served in the First Anglo-War of 1881. There was no medal issued for the disastrous campaign that ensued. Medal is engraved, and confirmed on the medal roll.
