The WW1 pair issued to 22121 Company Quartermaster-Sergeant Andrew Houston Wilson Sinclair, who served on the Western Front throughout 1917 and 1918 with the NZ Machine-Gun Corps. Together with a United Fire Brigades Association of NZ Long Service Medal for five years service, in silver by Anton Teutenberg, Auckland, missing ribbon, reverse inscribed 'Fireman/A.W.Sinclair/By The/Roslyn/V.Fire Brigade/Mar.1.1898', a R.F.V.B. (Roslyn Volunteer Fire Brigade), fob medal, handcrafted in gold (9ct, 12.1g, 40x40mm), by T.P.Williamson, Dunedin, ring top and pin-back suspension, reverse inscribed 'R.V.F.B./Coupling Event/1st/W.Dawson Esq's Prize/Sec.A.H.Sinclair/26.1.07.'; and a UFBA, 25 Years Service Star, with 2 Years Service bar, in gold (18ct, tot wt 19.8g), no maker, reverse inscribed 'Presented/To/A.H.Sinclair/Roslyn V.F.B./1-3-1918. The relationship of the recipient of the UFBA medals and the WW1 pair is not clear. The presentation of the 25 Year Star to A.H. Sinclair in March 1918 was when A.H.W. Sinclair was still on active service in France, so must be to a different person.
