Thomas Frederick Foreman was wounded during the landing on Gallipoli on 25th April 1915, suffering a gunshot wound to the neck. After recovering in Egypt, he returned to the peninsula in May, serving until being evacuated in early August 1915 suffering from dysentery. He was subsequently returned to New Zealand and discharged. Not done with the war, Foreman re-enlisted and embarked with the 24th Reinforcements in April 1917. He served on the Western Front with 2nd Battalion, Canterbury Infantry Regiment and in September 1918 was wounded for a second time. This brought his war to a close as he was evacuated to the UK and then returned to New Zealand for discharge.
